For 2025 Ultimate Direction redesigned their beloved Ultra Vest with a more universal design that better fits both men and women while accommodating trail runners of all shapes and sizes. The monomesh fabric is light and airy but still holds up well to the demands of long-distance racing and the hours of training required to prep for it. There are two included HydraPak bottles which nestle in dedicated harness pockets for on-the-go access and the pack will accommodate a bladder if you prefer to carry a hydration system. There are plenty of other pockets too that let you quickly grab whatever you need without breaking stride. There are attachment points that allow you to lash trekking poles externally, but we suggest spending a few extra dollars to get the customer fit UD Quiver which is a great no-fuss solution for stowing and deploying poles on race day.
