Topo Athletic MT-4

As much as we daydream about logging all of our running miles on trail, reality dictates the need to incorporate roads even if only to get from the car to the trail or in order to connect multiple trails for longer outings. The MT-4 is pretty ideal for those demands, doing a commendable job of transitioning from trail to road and back again. The low drop shoe (3mm) is lightweight and moderately cushioned so you still get all-day support without the shoe feeling too “pillowy” or unresponsive. This update has a more breathable upper than its predecessor and the more open mesh also dries more quickly if it becomes wet. A signature of all Topo Athletic shoes, the MT-4 has a wide toe box with a secure midfoot and heel to make certain that your toes have ample room but your foot still remains in place to avoid chafing or blisters. Sticklers for underfoot performance, Topo now also equips all of its shoes with a premium Vibram outsole, and the one on the MT-4 comes with increased traction and durability. A really nice update to an already versatile do-it-all trail runner.
