Steven spent his childhood growing up on a campground surrounded by forests, creeks, and open fields. He and his sister (and their dogs) roamed the woods, climbed trees, paddled boats, and splashed through all available water. A lifelong love of hiking, camping and backpacking eventually branched out to include traveling, kayaking, and trail running too. Since then his beard has grown a little longer and he is now often accompanied by two nature-loving daughters who inherited his fascination with wading in creeks and turning over rocks looking for frogs, salamanders, and other creatures.
