Boy, does Salewa know its way around rocky and technical terrain. Their mountain heritage shines through on every shoe and boot they build, and it most certainly does on the mid-cut Puez. Consider your foot comfortably locked in place from the very first time you slip them on thanks to the integrated 3F system which, along with a climbing-shoe style lace system, closely snugs the boot to your foot to banish blisters. By design, Salewa boots are often rigid underfoot for alpine exploration, but this boot has additional cushioning to counterbalance some of that perceived stiffness. A waterproof/breathable liner protects against moisture and a reinforced rand takes the ouch out of kicked rocks or roots.
