Salewa Pedroc PTX

This feels like the shoe we’ve been waiting for from Salewa. They’ve been building super-tough, highly technical boots and shoes for alpine pursuits for as long as we can remember and the Pedroc PTX leverages that DNA for fastpacking and thru-hiking. And before we get into the technical details, just look at the shoe. It’s beautiful. Not that it would matter if it didn’t also deliver trail reliability, but it absolutely does. The shoe employs one of Salewa’s signature design features, a 3F system which mirrors the asymmetry of your foot to minimize unwanted movement within the shoe to eliminate blisters and discomfort. A ripstop upper shrugs off abrasion while providing flexibility and breathability that leather can’t match and weather-protection is bolstered by a PFC-free waterproof/breathable membrane. A low-bulk EVA midsole sits atop a lugged Pomoca rubber outsole that navigates trails like a high-performance bike tire.
