Petzl Iko CORE 500

It’s ok if you do a double take upon your first look at the IKO Core 500. We did. Petzl has never been afraid to push the envelope and reimagine outdoor gear and that is exactly what they did with this innovative headlamp. Scrapping the traditional woven headband, the IKO Core has an ultra-lightweight molded frame that greatly diminishes points of contact while pretty much eliminating bounce or movement. To attest to how imperceptible the light is once in position, one of our Gear Specialist was wearing one during an overnight run and forgot it was on his head until he was climbing into his car to drive home! LEDs fill up the entire housing of the light and have one click adjustability to toggle through settings. Despite weighing just 2.8 ounces, the headlamp produces a full 500 lumens on its brightest setting. It comes with a rechargeable battery but can also be powered by alkaline batteries if you don’t have a readily available charging option.  When not in use, the lamp folds up compactly and tucks inside an included translucent storage bag that converts the light to a lantern!
