Tried-and-true performance at an affordable price sounds like a great combination to us. The Renn and the Rook deliver just that, giving you the carrying capability and comfort you knew you were going to get from Osprey but at a price that might pleasantly surprise you. Yes, there are Osprey offerings with broader sets of special features, but these packs don’t skimp either. They certainly have the room and weight-hauling ability for multi-day trips and, depending on the trip and what we are or aren’t carrying, we actually appreciate a more stripped-down silhouette to one with excessive pocketing and organization that just isn’t needed. We also really like the way these packs can be adjusted to fit varying heights and sizes in a way that makes them “borrowable” and a great option for adolescents and growing adventurers.
