We were a little skeptical a number of years ago when Osprey started building running packs. Not that we doubted their pack-building ability, not in the slightest, but there were already numerous brands building excellent running packs and when we thought Osprey we thought backpacking and hiking. In hindsight, we shouldn’t have been surprised that the brand didn’t just make running vests, but they made exceptionally good ones. The new Pro versions of the Duro and women’s specific Dyna take things to the next level with race-day optimization. They’re extremely lightweight, fit closely but comfortably to the body, and have pockets and attachment points in all the right places for keeping fuel, gear, and layers in easy reach. Two included 500ml soft flasks have stiffeners that make putting them into and retrieving them from up-front harness pockets easier than we’ve seen on any other running packs. The packs also come with a removable Duro Dyna Pro Quiver that make for an efficient carry of foldable trekking poles while also allowing for quick deployment. Maybe we didn’t use to think of Osprey when we thought about running packs, but we sure do now!
