When we’re looking for the toughest, burliest, and biggest packs, Mystery Ranch comes immediately to mind, but depending on the approach you’re taking on a given hike or backpacking trip, some of those packs can be more than you need. Enter the Bridger which leverages that workhorse-like build of signature Mystery Ranch packs but scales it down for faster-moving, lighter-packing adventures. Make no mistake, these aren’t ultralight packs and aren’t meant to be, but they do provide excellent support with enhanced ventilation, built-in fit adjustability, and a host of user-friendly features. These have an abundance of internal and external organizational features that reflect being designed by folks who are truly out there getting after it and understand the importance not only of incorporating organization but making it accessible. We also love seeing the up-front harness pocketing that is often found only on running packs. Hiking or running, it’s nice to have water bottles or other items in easy reach and we’re surprised this hasn’t cropped up more frequently. Kudos to Mystery Ranch for making it happen.
