Getting started backpacking can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. The Grand Mesa tent makes set up easy and intuitive, delivers reliable 3-season performance and durability, and is available at a price that lets you give backpacking and camping a try without completely breaking the bank. Unlike many entry level tents that rely on fiberglass poles, the Grand Mesa utilizes aluminum poles and employs “Quick Corners”, a straightforward pole pocket at each corner of the tent that effectively avoids the frustration of grommeted corner points and the over-tensioning that can sometimes plague first-time users when they initially attempt to put up a tent. It’s one of those brilliantly simple designs that makes you wonder how you hadn’t already thought of it or found it in use. We love the 4 person version, but the Grand Mesa is a great option if you only need room for one or two.
