In the 1940s, the Swedish founders of Swix were hard at work inventing and testing waxes to improve the performance of Nordic skis. From those humble origins, the brand expanded its scope and also began producing ski poles. Steven spent his childhood growing up on a campground surrounded by forests, creeks, and open fields. He and his sister (and their dogs) roamed the woods, climbed trees, paddled boats, and splashed through all available water. A lifelong love of hiking, camping and backpacking eventually branched out to include traveling, kayaking, and trail running too. Since then his beard has grown a little longer and he is now often accompanied by two nature-loving daughters who inherited his fascination with wading in creeks and turning over rocks looking for frogs, salamanders, and other creatures.
