Let’s face it, climbing in and out of cramped quarters and over your tentmates isn’t the best part of camping out at night. We’ve all gotten used to accepting the inconvenience with one or two doors at best, but the Salt Creek does one better and by incorporating three points of entry and exit, it improves livability tremendously. It also offers modularity in the way the rainfly and vestibules are pitched to not just increase access but also maximize ventilation, another big positive for better backcountry living conditions. It’s easily pitched and includes interior pocketing that further maximizes interior space by letting you stash gear off the floor and out of the way. The Salt Creek isn’t the lightest tent out there because of these features but it’s still sub-5 pounds, a carry weight easily shared by 2 or 3 backpackers.
